Thirasia |

Thirasia is the only inhabited island in the area of the Caldera. It is so closed to Santorini yet very quite. Arriving in Thirasia you get the feeling that the time has stopped 20 years into the past.
An unspoiled island with only a few curious tourists actually staying there, waiting to discover a part of the old "Strogili" before the eruption. |

You can reach Thirasia by boat from the main port of Santorini (Athinios) from the old port of Fira and the port of Oia. Also there are daily excursions to the Volcano, Hot Springs and Thirasia. If you'd like to stay in Thirasia for a few days, you'll be impressed by the hospitality of the people and the lovely food. Simple lodging is available in the main village. |
